Jigsaw Den has no account and no sign-in, no analytics, and no server of our own. We do not know who you are. The app reaches the network for exactly two things: to fetch an advertisement, and to check whether you have bought Remove ads. Everything else — the puzzles, your photos, your progress — happens on your device and stays there.
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. There is one format, a full-screen ad, and it can only appear when you leave a picture you have already finished. No ads run during a puzzle, and none run before you finish one.
To show and measure ads, AdMob may process your device's advertising ID, IP address, and coarse ad-interaction data (for example, that an ad was shown or tapped). Jigsaw Den requests non-personalised ads only, so ads are not selected using a profile of your interests. AdMob acts as our service provider for this purpose; we do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone else. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in system settings; on iOS, ads use the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking when asked. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles this data.
Buying Remove ads stops the ad requests entirely.
Remove ads is a single one-time purchase. It is processed entirely by Google Play or the App Store — we never see or store your card or payment details. The app keeps only a local record that the purchase is active, and asks the store to restore it if you reinstall or move to a new device.
You can turn your own photographs into puzzles. When you add one, the app writes a copy into its own storage on your device, so the puzzle keeps working if you later move or delete the original. That copy never leaves the device: it is not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and there is no server for it to be sent to. Your photographs are never used for advertising.
Removing a photo inside the app deletes that copy. Your camera roll is not modified either way.
When you choose to save a picture you have completed, the app asks the operating system for permission and writes that single image to your photo library. Nothing else is written, and no copy is retained elsewhere.
The puzzle you are part way through, the list of photos you have added, your table and comfort settings, whether Remove ads has been bought, and a count of how many puzzles you have finished (which is what decides when an ad is due). All of it is stored locally using the device's own app storage. Uninstalling the app removes it.
Jigsaw Den is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app's pictures are suitable for a general audience, but because it shows advertising it is not built as a children's product. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will remove it.
The bundled pictures are public-domain works from museum collections, together with some generated images. Each is labelled in the library, and finishing a public-domain work shows a short note about it.
This page is updated when what the app does changes, and the change is described here rather than implied. August 21, 2026: advertising and the Remove ads purchase were added, and the sections above were rewritten to describe them. An earlier version of this page said the app showed no advertising and made no network requests; that stopped being true when ads were added, and this update corrects it.
