Notes Den is a local-first markdown notes app. It is built so you can create, organize, link, import, export, and attach files to notes on your device first. Account sign-in and cloud sync are optional.

On-device notes

By default, your notes, folders, markdown content, tags, links, app settings, and attachments are stored locally on your device using app storage such as SQLite and the device file system. Den Digital LLC does not receive or access this local-only content.

Optional account and cloud sync

If you choose to sign in, Notes Den uses a Supabase backend to create and manage your account. Depending on how you sign in, account data may include your email address, provider account identifier, authentication tokens, and basic account metadata needed to keep you signed in.

When cloud sync is enabled, Notes Den syncs your notes, folders, attachment metadata, attachment files, timestamps, deletion markers, and related sync data so your workspace can be available on your signed-in devices.

Optional end-to-end encryption

Notes Den includes optional end-to-end encrypted sync. When you enable it, note text, note titles, folder names, attachment names/types, and attachment file contents are encrypted on your device before upload. Den Digital LLC does not know your passphrase and cannot recover encrypted note content if you lose both your passphrase and recovery key.

Some account and sync metadata is still needed for the service to work, such as your account identifier, record identifiers, timestamps, file sizes, storage paths, and whether a synced item is deleted or encrypted.

No ads, tracking, or sale of data

Notes Den does not show ads, use advertising identifiers, include third-party analytics, sell personal data, or track you across other apps and websites.

Import, export, sharing, and attachments

When you import files, add attachments, export your notes, copy text, or use the system share sheet, that action is controlled by you and your device operating system. Notes Den does not send exported files to Den Digital LLC unless you explicitly sync them through your signed-in account.

Retention and deletion

• Local data stays on your device until you delete it in the app, remove the app, or clear app data through your device settings.
• Synced data is kept while your account remains active so sync can work across devices. Deleting notes, folders, or attachments in the app syncs deletion markers and removes attachment files where possible.
• Account deletion can be requested by emailing support@dendigital.us. We will delete the account and associated synced Notes Den data unless we must retain limited information for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.

Children

Notes Den is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

• Use Notes Den without signing in to keep notes local to your device.
• Sign out anytime to stop cloud sync on that device.
• Enable or disable end-to-end encryption from the app settings.
• Email us to request account and synced data deletion.
