SpeakEasy Privacy Policy

This policy covers the SpeakEasy language-learning apps published by Den Digital LLC, including French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese Mandarin, Spain Spanish, Vietnamese, and other language editions that use the same SpeakEasy codebase.

Account and learning data

SpeakEasy uses a Supabase backend for account features and learning progress. You may use anonymous sign-in or create an account with email and password where available. Account data may include your email address, authentication identifiers, session tokens, and basic account metadata.

Learning data synced to the backend may include your user identifier, saved words, lesson progress, review status, scores, levels, streak/progress data, reset events, and related timestamps. The app also stores some settings and progress locally on your device.

Ads

SpeakEasy shows ads through Google AdMob to support the free apps. AdMob may collect a device advertising identifier and related ad-interaction data for advertising and measurement. SpeakEasy requests non-personalized ads in its ad requests.

Google's handling of ad data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information.

Audio and device permissions

SpeakEasy uses text-to-speech and lesson audio playback so you can hear words and phrases. The representative SpeakEasy apps do not request microphone permission and do not upload voice recordings to Den Digital LLC.

Retention and deletion

• Local settings and progress stay on your device until you clear app data, sign out where that clears local state, or uninstall the app.
• Synced account and learning data is kept while your account is active so progress can be restored and synced.
• Account deletion can be requested by emailing support@dendigital.us. We will delete associated SpeakEasy account and synced learning data unless we must retain limited information for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell your learning progress.
• We do not collect contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or location data.
• We do not require personal information to start basic learning flows that use anonymous sign-in.

Children

SpeakEasy is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

• Sign out where account features are available.
• Clear local app data or uninstall the app to remove local progress from a device.
• Email us to request deletion of synced account and learning data.
